02 / Discovery ≠ Reception

External scholarly and semantic discovery

BenchEWS is no longer discoverable only through first-party sources. OpenAIRE and other already documented external metadata and discovery environments surface publications bibliographically; individual works are also processed semantically or algorithmically. An automatically extracted or AI-generated paper summary is therefore a discovery signal, not independent human scientific reflection.

Latest change9 Sep 2026 — Reception status refined to exactly 2.0 out of 5: external scholarly and semantic discovery verified; independent human scientific reception still not publicly verified.

03 / Resonance index methodology

What 2.0 out of 5 actually means

The resonance index is not a standard bibliometric index, a quality grade, or a measure of scientific truth. It is a curated, evidence-bound assessment of position: how far has BenchEWS moved from first-party publication through external discoverability toward independent scrutiny and application?

1

Self-publication

Works are published in first-party environments that provide durable references.

2

External indexing & discovery

Independent scholarly search, metadata, discovery, or aggregation systems catalog the works.

3

Independent human engagement

Identifiable independent people meaningfully discuss, interpret, or critique the content.

4

Scientific reception & citation

Formal citation or substantive methodological scholarly engagement is verifiable.

5

Independent application or replication

Third parties demonstrably apply, replicate, test, or extend methods or concepts.

Why exactly 2.0?

The value marks the highest fully evidenced stage; it is neither a weighted arithmetic formula nor a quality grade. Stage 2 is evidenced by external scholarly discovery and semantic or algorithmic processing. Without publicly verified human reflection, no fraction of Stage 3 is added.

Derivation of the current 2.0 value

  • Stage 2 is clearly reached through verified external scholarly discovery, indexing, and semantic-processing environments.
  • Independent human engagement, formal citation, replication, and application each remain at zero.
  • The earlier potential Chinese mention cannot be verified as a direct reference and remains excluded from the reception assessment.

This supports a conservative value of 2.0 out of 5: external scholarly and semantic discovery is evidenced; the threshold to Stage 3 has not yet been publicly verified.

Hard evidence thresholds

Stage 2

Verifiable external indexing or scholarly discovery.

Toward 3

Identifiable human engagement with a hypothesis, method, or result.

Toward 4

Formal citation or substantive methodological scholarly engagement.

Toward 5

Documented independent application or replication.

04 / In-depth review · 9 Sep 2026

Reception Status · 9 Sep 2026

BenchEWS has reached verifiable external scholarly and semantic discovery. Independent human scientific reception has not yet been publicly verified.

Publications are now being indexed, bibliographically surfaced, and in some cases semantically or algorithmically processed outside the project’s own website and Zenodo infrastructure. This discovery must, however, be clearly distinguished from scientific reception. Independent human scientific reflection, substantive scholarly citation, or independent application or replication has not yet been publicly verified.

Outlook: The next qualitative threshold would be reached when an independent person or institution substantively discusses, cites, reproduces, or applies a BenchEWS publication to an external research object. Executable BenchEWS Studio releases and a potential peer-reviewed publication of the CRTI core would provide additional independent entry points into the research programme.

BenchEWS publications in OpenAlex-derived discovery

OpenAlex · Vixing

Several BenchEWS publications are discoverable through OpenAlex-derived metadata. Unattributed platform metrics are not counted as human reflection or citation.

Excluded hits and duplicates

excluded9/8/2026 · frühere potenzielle Erwähnung · revidiert

大圆镜 · 新知

A previously observed thematically related Chinese publication could not be verified upon re-examination as a direct reference to BenchEWS, CRTI, or Mallinckrodt and is therefore no longer counted as a reception signal.

excluded8/31/2026 · social statistics aggregation

BlueFacts #EWS

Statistical aggregation of first-party posts and interactions; no identifiable scholarly reception.

excluded8/31/2026 · repost / profile mirror

Fnordon · Mastodon profile results

Identical BenchEWS content appears in profile or repost contexts without original interpretation. Recorded separately as reposting or mirroring, not counted as independent attention or reflection.

Methodological boundary: Views, downloads, indexing, metadata harvesting, and algorithmic processing are activity and discovery signals, not scientific reception or validation. First-party sources, reposts, search-engine copies, and RSS mirrors likewise do not count as independent scholarly reflection. Ambiguous findings remain provisional until reviewed.
